Boy I really needed this big dose of reality. It is super helpful as I get to know people and myself more. And funny too. I was laughing out loud at myself and some of the situations I have created in the name of love. Thank you Dr. Ali for your insight and I certainly plan to keep trying and learning.
Ahh, where were you when I met my last partner? He stole my heart within the first few minutes of hello. When we were together, I felt like a groupie, a stage I never went through as a younger person. After he moved into my home, it took a short while before I actually took a paper and folded it into a pro and con column. Yes, you guessed it…if it became a seesaw, the down side would have been the cons. I thought with my heart not my head. There was no balance In my logic. I made foolish excuses for his actions and blamed myself for the negativity that hung like a dark loud that hovered around my head. I lied to my friends, family and, mostly to myself so that I wouldn’t feel like such a failure. Recently, he died and I am so fearful of falling prey to myself again. You came like a blessing into my life…a gift that appeared on my iPad this evening. Perhaps, I wished for the likes of you and you apoeared like a genie out of a bottle. I will start with two things tomorrow a.m. First, I will go to Barnes and Nobles and check out your books. Then, I will see if you have any podcasts that I can access. In the meantime, as an artist, I have used my tools to express feelings. This helps. Are you able to receive a verbal hug? Heartfelt thanks, Joyce Becker
This is so amazingly oversimplified! There are certain situations which are out of our control and where agency makes very little difference—especially with respect to romantic relationships. Giving love and being compassionate does not guarantee that other people will return that love at all.
Felt it: I am enough, because I am a miracle as you. I’m on the way to get superpower … be the light. Thank you, Ali Binazir
Thank you, amazing insight
My understanding of the importance of meditation is shifting more and more as I listed to all these wonderful speakers. I really enjoyed the simplicity in the way Dr. Binazir handled his talk. I loved how he put it “be the glow in the dark person”! Be an agency of love and happiness by doing things to and for others instead of waiting to receive it.
thank you, interesting insights and commonsense advice.
Refreshing and funny. A great gift to be truthful and make people laugh in recognition. Thank you.
